When you order a contract online, are you charged when you place the order or use the phone/sim card?

Filed under: phone card — admin @ 6:47 am

I ordered a Nokia N97 on a contract with vodafone online, will i be charged when i place the order, or when i open or use the sim card/phone. I got the phone free and am just paying on a monthly contract.

  1. You will be charged when your billing cycle runs. Meaning if the bill date is on the 30th every month, that’s when the initial charge will appear. If there were shipping charges or activation charges, those will more than likely be charged immediately. Also, when you place an order and the company assigns a phone, your plan starts from that moment (the time the phone is assigned) rather than the time that you receive the phone in.

You could always call customer service when you receive your handset and ask them to change or adjust your billing date.

    Hope this helps!

    Good luck!
