He’s about 14 years old. In otherwise good health. He does all his regular activities fine. He just has mucous that you can hear when he breaths most of the time and he sneezes it out often. He’s been like this for about 2 months. A while ago he had a bout of this but not as strong since he didn’t sneeze so much the last time. He’s inside 70% of the time outside 30$ and he doesn’t like other cats. He’s the only pet I have. We’ve always lived in the same area in the Bay Area so there haven’t been any changes to the climate he hasn’t seen before.

Hi! It sounds like perhaps you should take him to a vet. What do you think? It must be miserable for him to have had this cold so long…(and for you) Best of luck.

he is 14…a grandpa already…bring him to the vet, because he can help him with a vaccination.

Take him to the vet. I’ve got a cat with an Upperrespiratory infection which isn’t curable. She sneezes a lot like yours does but with meds she’s fine and so will yours. But I’m not saying your cat has upperrespiratory infection or anything of the sort. But still take it to the vets’. All will be fine. Your cat may seem like he hates going but he’ll love you for doing so.

Chances are its not a cold. A very common problem that people often mistake for a cold! Have your vet check for a nasal polyp. A tumor like growth that hides just up under the back portion of the cats throat where the nasal passage ends. Also, since he does go out doors it is possible he may have contracted a virus from another cat. You should really check with your vet. If you cannot afford a vet stop by your local animal control or ASPCA, sometimes they can offer or refer you to a low cost service.
