1. Have something interesting to write about (to you and your target audience)…find a niche and try to stick to it.
2. Update your blog regularly. No entries = no visitors. And active blogs definitely attract more attention than inactive blogs,

Register with directories and search engines including Technorati (http://www.technorati.com/) and the The Truth laid Bear (http://www.truthlaidbear.com/ecosystem.php), while using traffic directing sites such as Blogexplosion (http://www.blogexplosion.com/index.php?ref=jamal), Blogsoldiers (http://www.blogsoldiers.com/?rid=1276), Blogclicker (http://blogclicker.com/?username=jamal), Link2blogs (http://www.link2blogs.com/registration.php?Referral=amFtYWFseEBnbWFpbC5jb20=), Blogazoo (http://www.blogazoo.com/?rid=2662), Blogtraffic (http://www.blogtraffic.org/?r=58030), Blogadvance (http://www.blogadvance.com/?ref=874), BlogXchange (http://www.blogxchange.us/?r=jamal) and Linkreferral (http://www.linkreferral.com/cgi-bin/linkreferal/adwel.cgi?oldrefid=38246), which will bring a mass of blog visitors.
4. Personally, I’ve found that reading and commenting on the blogs of others encourages others to read and comment on my blog, and I always link to informative articles of other blogs. This is how positive (or negative) debate begins, with the interaction of a diversity of ideas.
5. In order to build up your own little blog community, link exchanges are a good way to go. I’m always happy to add a blog link.
6. If possible try to correlate your topics to the current buzz in your industry or the world in general.

2. Go blog hopping, search for friends who has more popular blog, and offer them to exchange links and be friends with them. –> best way
3. Join technorati – http://www.technorati.com/
4. Diferentiate your blog. Focus on a theme, or create a unique personality for your blog.
