Job transfer may lead to a move to the Detroit area. Job is in Flat Rock. This move will involve a family of four. 2 adults and 2 kids, 16 and 8. What is the area like? How are the schools, the cost of living, the overall community, and pay and job prospects (including school climate)for Secondary English teachers with ESL experience and semi-fluent Spanish skills?

While the cost of a college education sky rockets, the value of a bachelors degree is in decline. I like going, but i’m not sure if it’s worth the outrageous cost, which i am footing without parental aid. Those older than I insist that college is worth it, but i’m not sure they fully appreciate the gloomy socioeconomical climate that awaits me when i’ve spend all of my money on tuition, and still can’t get a job in my field. I have about 66 credits so far. Your opinion, please.
I am not yet out of school, i was just noting that a lot of my friends who have bachelors degrees don’t get work in their field.
