Should I get a second opinion about my cat’s broken leg?

My cat broke her leg (rear left femur) about 2 weeks ago. The vet did an X-ray and it was splintered in 5 pieces. So, he put them back together with wires and a surgical pen parrallel to the bone. This past saturday the pen seemed to have shifted up and it peirced thru the skin right around her hip area. So, I took her back and he clipped off the part that was sticking out and said she should be ok… but, now, it looks as if it’s sliding up again and about to poke thru a new place. Needless to say, I’ve spent lots of money and I can’t really afford to get a second opinion.. so i just was wondering if these kind of incidents are commom in mending broken bones that involve pens and wires? In animals or humans.. I just don’t want her to hurt any more than she has to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

ty for the answer to my question, but I have shoould have given more info.?

I should have given more info to start with but was too tired to go into detail. My Beagle was about 13 years old and sick. She’s been having seizures for the past few years but not very often. She started losing weight and got chronic dirrahea and started throwing up all of a sudden she was very weak and could bearly walk. All I wanted was to have her put to sleep so she didn’t have to suffer any more and was told that the vet would not put her to sleep since she wasn’t one of his regular patients. But he was the closet vet to my house and I didn’t want her to have to suffer though the holiday weekend when they would all be closed, which was the case with my regular vet. But I had to let her suffer though out the night until I coould get her to another vet 30 miles away the next morning. How could a vet let a poor animal suffer like that just because she was his regular patient? Apparently not a vet that really cares about the animals he sees. Ty you in advance for your answer.

Why do some people even have a pet!!!!????

I just read about 6 pages of questions on dogs and I can’t believe that some of those questions were asked from people who have a pet. Does anyone else feel sorry for these poor animals. If you can’t afford to take your pet to the vet and give it what it needs then you shouldn’t have one.

Sorry, but I just had to VENT my frustration.
